About-
Dr. Nasim Aktar is an Assistant Professor (Stage II) in the Department of Geography at Presidency University, Kolkata. He completed his Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees in Geography from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, one of India's premier institutions for higher education. Throughout his academic career, he has maintained an excellent academic record.
Dr. Aktar has established himself as an active researcher in Agricultural Geography and Regional Development. His academic work focuses on understanding the spatial dimensions of agriculture, rural transformation, regional inequalities, and sustainable development. He is committed to integrating theoretical perspectives with empirical research to address contemporary issues in agricultural and regional planning. His research reflects a multidisciplinary approach, employing both quantitative and qualitative methods to examine geographical processes and development challenges.
Alongside his research, Dr. Aktar is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, mentoring students, supervising research projects, and participating in academic and institutional activities. His teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, field-based learning, and the application of geographical concepts to real-world development issues.

He actively encourages field-based research, critical inquiry, and the application of quantitative and geospatial techniques in geographical investigations.
