Grievance Redressal Cell

Presidency University has formed different committees to redress the students’ grievances; anti-ragging committee, Presidency University cell against sexual harassment (PUCASH) and Equal Opportunity Cell. For grievances related to university examination, students can approach the Controller of Examinations or they can see their answer scripts under the RTI Act and for grievances related to academics they can approach the respective faculty dean. Each candidate provides a total of five Affidavits duly signed by the candidate and guardians on anti-ragging, anti-sexual harassment and anti-racism made on non-judicial stamp paper during the time of admission. Presidency University has established a centralized Grievance Redressal Cell to redress any students’ grievance. An aggrieved student can register his/her complaint online and the Cell after verifying the facts will try to redress the grievance within a reasonable time, preferably within a month of the receipt of application of the student. While dealing with the complaint the committee will observe law of natural justice and hear the complainant and concerned people, as and when required. The Cell may recommend to the University Authority any necessary corrective action as it may deem fit, to endure avoidance of recurrence of similar grievance in future. If the student is not satisfied with the verdict, he/she may appeal to the Registrar, the Appellate Authority of the university, for further redressal. If there is any caste base discrimination with any faculty and staff, they can also register their complaint online. Students can also lodge their specific complaints/concerns arising out of COVID-19 pandemic.
