
Training Program and Internship in ‘Molecular Diagnostics’ Date: 15/06/2026
1. Duration: 6 weeks (180 hours), from 17 July to 28 August, 2026 (4 Credits Course; Equivalent to NEP2020 proposed Summer Internship).
2. Fees: Rs. 12,000 for training only (No accommodation available)
2. Training area: Basic ideas of Molecular Diagnostics, DNA and RNA, PCR, Spectrophotometry, End-point and Quantitative RT-PCR, FFPE block preparation and sectioning, Bioethics and Biosafety.
The enrolled candidates will participate in hands-on training on ‘essential lab techniques and lab safety measures’, ‘isolation and quantitation of nucleic acids’, ‘end-point PCR’, ‘quantitative RT-PCR using SYBR and Taqman chemistry’, ‘preparation of formalin-fixed-paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue block and sectioning using microtome’, and ‘data handling and ethical norms.
3. No of trainees: 10-15
4. Eligibility: Students pursuing BSc (at least in their second year) or MSc in Biology or allied streams.
5. Selection: The eligible candidates have to write a Statement of Purpose (SOP; max 250 words) highlighting their career interest/future goals in the field of Molecular Diagnostics and email it to trainingcourse.ihs@gmail.com along with their CV. The subject line of the email should contain ‘Application to Molecular Diagnostics Training Course’. The shortlisted candidates will be notified by email. Payment procedure will be informed after selection.
Last date of application is 1 st July 2026. The selected candidates will be notified within 3 rd July for payment through SBI portal. The course will be from 17 th July to 28 th August 2026.
After the completion of the program, participants will get a completion certificate from IHS, PU. It also comprises of a Diagnostic Laboratory Visit to experience the workflow. The course is Equivalent to NEP2020 proposed Summer Internship (4 credits).
