A Walk-in Interview on 27th June, 2018 for a JRF/SRF Position at the Department of Chemistry, Presidency University, Kolkata


Applications are invited for a JRF/ SRF position under CSIR project (Principal Investigator: Dr. Koena Ghosh, Project Title: ‘ Stereoselective synthesis of fused oxa/aza-heterocycles via domino ring-opening cyclization of doner-acceptor cyclopropanes funded by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, INDIA.

Post: One JRF/SRF

Project Duration: ~3 years

Fellowship: 12000/- per month + HRA (as per university norms) for JRF position

Or 14000/- per month HRA (as per university norms) for SRF position (As per CSIR project guideline)

Progress of the project work will be evaluated after two years by appropriate committee following CSIR project guideline. Based on their recommendation, JRF may be upgraded to SRF with stipend of Rs. 14,000/- p.m. for the remaining tenure of the project.

Eligibility :

Minimum eligibility criterion for the JRF & SRF posts is as follows:

JRF: M.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent from a recognized University with at least 55% marks & LS-NET/ GATE qualification. Maximum age limit is 28 years.

SRF : M.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent from a recognized University with at least 55% marks, LS-NET/ GATE qualification & at least 2 years post M.Sc. research/teaching experience as evidence from published papers in standard refereed journal. Maximum age limit is 32 years.

Upper age limit relaxation of 5 years will be given SC/ST/OBC/Woman candidate.

Preference will be given to the candidate with organic chemistry specialization.

A walk-in interview will be held on 27-06-2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chemistry Department, Presidency University, Kolkata. All interested candidates are requested to appear for an interview with the following documents in two sets. (Documents must be self-attested).

3. Degree certificates (original and photocopy)

4. Thesis/ project report and publications (if any)

5. Proof of date of birth

No TA will be paid for appearing in the interview. Applicants may send their CV directly to PI.
