Advertisement inviting applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow in ANRF-Advanced Research Grant (ARG) funded Project at the Institute of Health Sciences   Date: 21/07/2026

Applications are invited from motivated and eligible Indian citizens for the position of Junior Research Fellow in the ANRF-ARG sponsored research project entitled “Therapeutic intervention with combination of anti-inflammatory and senolytic drugs in management of vascular calcification”under the supervision of Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Arunima Sengupta, Associate Professor, Institute of Health Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata.

Date, Time and Venue of Interview: Friday, August 7th, 2026, at 11.00 AM, Tower 1, Institute of Health Sciences, Presidency University (2nd Campus), Plot No. DG/02/02, Premises No. 14-0358, Action Area-ID, New Town (Near Biswa Bangla Convention Centre), Kolkata-700156, West Bengal, India. The interview will be conducted in in-person mode. The shortlisted candidates will be communicated for the interview.

Application process: The candidate must email i) their current CV including their contact number ii) a 250-word research statement including any past research experience and motivation for this project iii) name and email id or phone number of at least one referee, who can provide feedback on their academic background, to the PI (arunima.ihs@presiuniv.ac.in) on or before August 4th, 2026, 5 pm.

The candidate must bring with them on August 7th, 2026, i) hard copy of their CV ii) write-up and iii) original mark sheets/grade cards for B.Sc. and M.Sc., NET/GATE scorecard/rank card/certificate of award. Self-attested xerox copies of the original will also be accepted subject to verification of the original on a later date if the candidate is selected.

Minimum Educational Qualifications Required:

a) MSc/MS/BS-MS or equivalent in any branches of Biology with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade from any recognized board/University

b) Qualification in the National Eligibility Test at the JRF/LS/PhD only level or Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE).

Following qualifications are desirable but not mandatory:

a) Previous hands-on experience in cell culture, mouse handling and molecular biology techniques

b) Prior experience in bioinformatics based applications

Enrolling for Ph.D.: The selected candidate may be allowed to enrol for Ph.D. program as per university rules.

Duration of project: Three years.

Tenure of Assignment: One year. Can be extended annually till the duration of the project, subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Fellowship/Salary:

As per ANRF-ARG norms. 37,000 INR + 30% HRA per month for JRF

Note:

1. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
